The approaches and methods of studying cultural phenomena from the related sciences of Sociology (Social Anthropology, Folklore) are presented and the concepts of tradition, modernization, folk and urban culture are analyzed. The structural characteristics and the way of organization and networking of local societies in the Greek area in the recent past are examined, as well as aspects and representations of forms of folk culture in the countryside and the poles.
