Gender and Migration [Seminar]

The seminar aims to analyze the migration phenomenon from the perspective of gender. In contrast to approaches that examine migration as a whole, the seminar emphasizes the specificities that characterize both the movement of women and their relationship with the labor markets of host countries. At a first level, the necessary theoretical approaches that impose the distinct analysis of female migration from the science of sociology will be presented. Subsequently, specific case studies will be examined with an emphasis on nationality, profession and the form that migration takes.
