The purpose of the course, through which the learning outcomes are derived, is to discuss at a theoretical level, through an introduction to the Sociology of Organizations, but also to highlight social development perspectives at the national and local levels, to highlight new forms of coordination and collaboration of organizations and institutions through a binding framework of networking and a unified concept of strategic planning, to explore organizations with a social character, as well as local networks and forms of social intervention, employment and social protection at the local level. The main purpose is also to approach topics related to the design, evaluation and management of development programs with an emphasis on locality as well as on the emergence, but also of successful good practices and innovations in the formulation of regional policies. Furthermore, the course includes topics of the sociology of organizations, as well as the perspective of social development at the national and local levels, aiming at the appropriate and inspired utilization of social capital in existing and new organizational structures. The lectures give particular emphasis to new forms of coordination and cooperation between organizations and institutions through a binding networking framework and unified strategic planning, regarding the priorities and development goals of local societies. At the same time, the main objective is to discuss and examine the way in which services are provided by social organizations and local networks and also to emphasize forms of social intervention, employment and social protection at the local level with the contribution of local government as an additional mechanism of social policy. In this context, specific examples of development partnerships with stable and sustainable cooperation as well as networking for political response and strategic planning priority for social and economic development in local environments are examined. Finally, issues related to the design, evaluation and management of development programs with an emphasis on locality are analyzed, as well as successful practices and innovations for the development of regional policies.
