The basic theoretical and methodological approach adopted aims to examine and analyze the contemporary economic and social structures that give the Greek social formation its particular structural characteristics within the European and international context. The course is structured in the following thematic units: -The economic and social component of development, as well as the interaction between them, which are specialized in a system capable of understanding the developmental starting points of Modern Greece. -The interdisciplinary management of economic phenomena, aiming at diagnosing the character of the fundamental concepts and policies associated with economic and social development. -The recent economic crisis and its long-term economic and social impacts create needs for interpreting the existing reality, as well as for searching, processing and implementing appropriate policies in the new economic and social context that is being formed. -The morphology of the Greek crisis is analyzed. -Economic development is studied. -The concept of social development is analyzed. -The specific subjects that will be developed during the courses relate to the analysis of the characteristics of the transition to the aforementioned structures. -The development of the industrial sector is studied. -The development of the agricultural sector is analyzed. -The expansion of the service sector is interpreted. -The division of labor is examined in relation to the process of economic growth. -Emphasis is given to the empirical documentation of theoretical conceptualizations and the presentation of available data. -Regarding the above topics, the policies followed are also analyzed in detail.
