The first sections of the course introduce basic concepts related to migration and migration policy in the European Union (EU) and in the EU sub-states. Therefore, extensive reference is made to the social transformations and economic developments associated with the characteristics of the EU member states, as well as to the important factors of change or reversal of these relations in periods of combined crisis and destabilization with increased migratory and refugee flows. Impacts that are mainly identified in the questioning of the linear course of a social model of prosperity, in intercultural issues, as well as in smooth social integration, coexistence and social cohesion. Particular emphasis is given to issues related to the forced movement of populations with refugee profiles and their treatment with the commitment of international law by the host countries and the processing of asylum requests accordingly. Based on the above, we will study what we now call the "refugee crisis" in Greece and Europe.
