COURSE REGISTRATION
From 1ο up to 4ο The maximum number of courses that can be registered per semester is six (6).
During the first two years of study, it is not permitted to register for courses from a semester higher than the one the student is currently taking.
From 5ο until 7ο semester of studies, students may register for up to seven (7) courses, provided that at least two (2) of the seven (7) courses are courses from previous semesters. During the 8thο semester, students may register for up to eight (8) courses, provided that at least three (3) of the eight (8) courses are courses from previous semesters.
Students studying beyond 8th semester of study have the possibility of registering for up to eight (8) courses per semester.
This decision (General Assembly meeting no. 18/06-07-2011) comes into effect from the academic year 2012-2013 for all undergraduate students of the Department, regardless of their year of registration.
INTERDEPARTMENTAL COURSES
Update and clarification of topic 4.5 of the GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY OF THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION NO. 43/12.09.2003
Students of the Department of Sociology may declare courses offered by other Departments of the School of Social Sciences, except for foreign language courses. Also, students of the Department of Sociology are permitted to include in their total course load for their degree up to four courses in total from other Departments of the School of Social Sciences. Courses from other departments are considered mandatory electives.
GRADUATE THESIS
Students with an average grade of 7.00, including performance at 7, have the possibility of registering for the Compulsory Elective course of the 8th semester "Research and Writing (Graduate Thesis)" with code 476.ο semester of study. The selection of a student with a grade point average of less than 7.00 is at the discretion of each member of the Department's teaching staff who undertakes the supervision of the work.
PRACTICAL EXERCISE
Registration requirements: Students who are in the third (3ο) year of study may declare the Compulsory Elective Course of Practical Training provided that by their second year of study they have accumulated at least 90 ECTS (15 courses) and students of the fourth (4th) year, that they have accumulated 120 ECTS (20 courses) by the third year of study.
