Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
a) Approach change (in general) and crisis (in particular) as a crucial element for understanding social phenomena and for the in-depth analysis of social behaviors and social attitudes of social subjects.
b) Give a prominent role to the importance of historical time and the ways in which individuals shape the "content" of their social life in times of crisis.
c) To sociologically analyze the changes that occur in times of crisis in social ties and in the position/role of social institutions in relation to work.
d) Develop a comparative perspective between the "before" and "after" of a crisis. Ask questions regarding how changes in the organization of production and work can affect people's social life, their resistance-survival practices, their choices and, ultimately, their aspirations for the future.
e) Be able to critically analyze the social processes through which people's lives change, as well as the different meanings and representations of a crisis by social subjects.
